Miscellaneous Photos!
Here you will find old photos, from the before-time,
in the long long ago. We don't recognize most
of the folks in these photos, but we feel its our duty
to share their accomplishments and demo test-runs with
the world.
This is Art, a former Explosives Expert of the club,
until 2000. He used to send these wacky emails to the
club talking about events that just passed. They started
out with "Hello, this is Art, your friendly neighborhood
explosives expert..." He goes to Grad School at
UC Santa Cruz now.
Someone burning some magnesium
Testing out the Genie in a Bottle.
That graham cracker was dipped in Liquid Nitrogen. As
soon as this little tyke chomps down he'll be breathing
out whispy vapors.
Showing some kids what to do with Liquid Nitrogen. Great
for flash-freezing crackers, crushing soda cans, or
removing skin warts.
They dive in!
An apprentice fire-breather. Hasn't gotten past the
smoking stage.
A crowd of kids, parents, and a table full of science
what more could one ask for?
The non-burning currency. Too bad the federal government
hasn't figured out this trick. Tax dollars seem to just
go up in smoke. We have perfected the technique of still
burning up the dollar while wtill keeping it for ourselves.
Makes good fiscal sense, eh?

95% sodium acetate, and 5% water, bring to a boil, cool
slowly, and pour out. The result? Crystals form out
of the solution, and you get a pillar of salt. See a
more impressive one in the Picnic
Day 2002 photo section.
And here we have a powerful Genie in a Bottle being
skillfully set off by Kassandra. She left us to go to
graduate school at Cornell in New York. Wow, and we
can say we knew her back in the day! Or we could blackmail
her with this.
Testing out the Flame Test demo. It's supposed to look
pretty, but here we just have an orange flame. Probably
boring old calcium or something.
